Practice Breathing Using Your Diaphragm!
Diaphragmatic breathing will revitalize the body, steadies the emotions and creates mental clarity. When you breathe your stomach should be expanding, not just your chest. This allows your lungs to take in more oxygen. You can practice this in a comfortable seated position or by either lying on your back. If you lie on your back, put your hands on your stomach, legs bent, and take deep long breaths ( Do not strain to breathe). Inhale through your nose letting your stomach expand with each breath. As you breathe out through your mouth or nose your stomach should sink in. Your chest should hardly be moving.
Alternate Nostril Breathing
Alternate Nostril breathing exercises are lovely because they work in just a few minutes of practice. Furthermore, it helps release accumulated tension, fatigue and reduces stress. The breathing exercise is named Anulom Vilom pranayama as it helps clear out blocked energy channels in the body, which in turn calms the mind.
